Welcome to Appleby Tennis Club...

Appleby Tennis Club is an incorporated, non-profit summer tennis club with an elected Board of Directors. The Club has been run by volunteers for over 40 years. Income from membership fees are used to maintain the Club, retain a full-time Club Pro/Manager, pay for utilities and support the programs and events offered.
 
Facilities: Appleby Tennis Club has 6 lighted asphalt courts, a Clubhouse, practice wall and convenient parking. The court lighting system was completely replaced in 2003 thanks to an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant. The new system has greatly improved both lighting levels and reliability.
 
Location: We are located at the east end of Nelson Park in Burlington, Ontario. Access is from Longmoor Drive, beside Pauline Johnson Public School. For Map – Please click here.

Club Pro: Alex Benyi is returning as our Club Pro/Manager for 2010. Alex is a certified Tennis Canada Level 3 Coach and Personal Trainer

OTA Tennis Fair: July 23rd

This years OTA tennis fair has been scheduled for Friday July 23rd from 6:30-8:30pm. The OTA tennis fair clinics are just $12 per person to participate and each participant will get tennis instruction from an OTA tennis professional, plus get a chance to try out the latest in Wilson racquet technology. Each participant will also get an OTA t-shirt, BBQ/Refreshments and 2 tickets to the 2010 Rogers Cup qualifying weekend at the Rexall Centre in Toronto. The fair is limited to adult members and non-members only and spaces will be limited so make sure you sign up early.

Our very own Club Pro Alex Benyi is well on his way to Tinseltown after appearing in an episode of the "Real Life" on CTS. Alex stars in a segment on how to prepare for the upcoming tennis season after the winter break with some tips and drills. Help Wanted: Board Position For Maintenance

The Appleby Tennis Club is looking for volunteers for a new maintenance person to serve on the Board of Directors. The role would be responsible for taking on all maintenance duties for the club including arranging for minor/major repairs to the courts, clubhouse and grounds. The ideal candidate would be someone with experience in a construction or maintenance trade and an all around "Handyman". If you are interested please e-mail info@applebytennisclub.ca

Recycling and Garbage Info

Halton Region and the City of Burlington will not pick-up our recyclables or garbage! Therefore due to the large number of plastic water bottles brought to the club and in order to reduce our removal costs, all members are encouraged to take their empty water bottles with them for recycling when leaving. Also, in order to reduce our garbage removal costs all members are asked not to leave garbage at the club. If you bring it with you, please take it home when leaving. This includes, pizza boxes, broken tennis racquets and equipment, donut boxes, food scraps, etc. Thank you for your cooperation!
